Phase 3 golf renovations moving forwards in Cold Lake

The City of Cold Lake is moving forward with Phase 3 on the enhancements to the Cold Lake Golf and Winter Club.

Phase 3 of the project will cost $30,000 and will focus on Holes #4, #5, #10, and another bunker on #7. The multi-year project began in 2021 focusing on bunker renovations and the playability of the course with work already completed on Holes #1, #2, #3, #6, #7, and #8. The improvements have made it easier to maintain the bunkers and improved the drainage and replaced the sand.

The work will be done one at a time with a temporary green being used on the hole. Phase 3 will start in early summer and is planned to take about two weeks.

Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland says the town has received numerous compliments regarding the renovations.

“Many of the long-standing members who have been around for a while, are happy to see the improvements on the course, with several saying the course is now shaping up to be back where it was and is a pleasure to play.”

Urlacher’s Construction is working with the club’s maintenance people to attempt to reduce the impact it will have on play.
