Lac La Biche To Host 2019 3D Archery World Championships

The world is coming to Lac La Biche in 2019 for the World Archery 3D Championships.

The Lakeland Archers were able to put in a winning bid, making them the tournament’s first ever hosts from outside of Europe. Over 300 athletes from as many as 40 countries will converge on the town for 10 days to prove they’re the best in the world.

Executive Director of Archery Canada Scott Ogilvie says this just isn’t a huge event for Lac La Biche, but a milestone for Canada asserting itself on archery’s international stage.

3D archery varies from traditional archery in that the targets are 3D models of commonly hunted wildlife instead of a bullseye target.
