Test For Cold Lake Approved by Council

Cold Lake City Council has approved a thorough test of the water levels and quality in its namesake lake.

Council will likely seek out a neutral third party – probably a university – to conduct the study to assure the results are unbiased.

The Progressive Conservative government had proposed installing a water pipeline in the lake, making it a regional water source. The NDP has yet to raise the matter but Councillor Bruce MacDonald has been a particularly strong proponent of the test. He wants to make sure the lake can handle the pipeline before it’s installed.
