Bonnyville Makes Bid for Junior A Challenge

Bonnyville has officially placed a bid for the World Junior A Hockey Challenge.

Both the town and MD have thrown their support behind the bid, with the town sponsoring a team. The town is also considering covering half the rental cost of the C2, possibly more.

While the tournament will be played at the R.J Lalonde, other communities in the Lakeland will be able to get in on the fun as well, committee member Robb Hunter hopes that surrounding towns will be able to host exhibition games before the competition officially gets under way.

If the bid is successful, the tournament will begin in December of 2016.
