Lakeland-area ballots see more candidates added over weekend

The federal election ballots around the area got a few more names added to them over the weekend. Residents in the Lakeland will vote in either the Lakeland or Fort McMurray – Cold Lake ridings depending on where they live coming up in three weeks time.

The Lakeland ballot now features Green Party candidate Kira Brunner, Veterans Coalition Party candidate Roberta Marie Graham, New Democratic Party candidate Jeffrey Swanson and Liberal Party candidate Mark Watson. They join the previously-confirmed Shannon Stubbs of the Conservative Party, Robert McFadzean of the Libertarian Party and Alain Houle of the Peoples Party of Canada.

The Fort McMurray – Cold Lake ticket now has Brian Deheer running for the Green Party. He joins Matthew Barrett of the Peoples Party, Maggie Farrington of the Liberal Party and David Yurdiga of the Conservative Party on that ballot.

Monday is the last day nominations for both tickets will be allowed. The ballots will be finalized on October 2nd.

Advanced polling begins around the Lakeland on October 11th. The federal election will take place on October 21st.
