Regenerative farming talk comes as UN report calls for AG change

Farmers in the Lakeland will get a taste of “regenerative farming” as concern grows across the globe. On August 22nd the Lakeland Agricultural Research Association will host Food Producer and author Gabe Brown at the Ashmont Agriplex. Brown owns a 500-acre ranch in North Dakota where he and his family use natural and sustainable methods to farm.

The event comes as the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a report last week calling on the farming industry to rethink some practices for what they say is the good of the planet. The UN panel says producing more plants and less meat as well as the use of no-tillage seeding could be solutions to the climate change concerns.

The all-day presentation costs $50 per person. More info is on the LARA webpage.
