Mounties looking for witnesses after Highway 659 chase

Police in Bonnyville are looking for anyone who saw a car driving erratically near town last Monday to come forward. Mounties say on July 15th they were on patrol near the 7-11 on Highway 659 east of town when they spotted a black Oldsmobile engaged in a suspected drug deal.

Mounties say the car then took off, driving on the wrong side of the highway. Cars and trucks were forced into the ditch trying to avoid a crash with the car. The RCMP gave chase and eventually the suspects were caught by Police Dog Harp in the St. Paul area.

A 26-year-old Bonnyville man and a 32-year-old woman face charges including flight from a police officer.

Mounties say anyone who saw the incident should come forward and make a statement. More information can be found by calling the Bonnyville RCMP at 780-343-7200
