New field to be shown off Saturday in Cold Lake

The City of Cold Lake will be showing off its newest addition to recreation this Saturday. The city is readying to officially open the brand new artificial turf field outside the Reid Field House at the Energy Centre.

The day will feature an opening ceremony and speeches as well as a soccer game and bouncy houses. The field is expected to be named after Cold Lake volunteer Tom Varghese.

The opening ceremonies begin at 3 PM and the whole day will run until about 6. It is free to attend. More information on the new field, as well as the Energy Centre, is at the official Cold Lake website.
