Fire out at Pelican Point: BRFA

The fire at Pelican Point near Moose Lake is out. That was the news Wednesday morning form Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority Chief Jay Melvin. BRFA officials say the fire guards worked over Tuesday night and there are still some smouldering spots but no active fires in the area.

Firefighters remain on scene with crews from Alberta Sustainable Resource Development and Agriculture and Forestry.

Helicopters are also still in the skies dropping water on certain areas. Melvin says he hopes to have BRFA operations wrapped up the end of today.

Range Road 474 remains closed as crews continue to work.
