Cold Lake RCMP Performed a High-Risk Takedown

On June 13th, RCMP in Cold Lake received a call that there was a carjacking at a gas station in Cold Lake. Police learned that the vehicle was taken with the owner inside and were able to locate the vehicle in Ardmore. RCMP deemed it suitable to perform a high-risk take-down.

It is believe the incident was drug-related and that the parties involved knew each other. The owner of the vehicle was assaulted, though refused to corporate with authorities. Without the corporation of the owner, police decided not to pursue charges as the chances of conviction would have been too slim.
