Cyclist season means watch out, wear a helmet: Lakeland mounties

Mounties around the Lakeland are reminding drivers to watch out for cyclists as spring starts to show its head. The Cold Lake RCMP put out a reminder on Friday that as the weather turns nicer, more residents are taking to two wheels to enjoy some sights and exercise.

Mounties say last year around 7,500 riders were hurt across the country. They’re hoping that number can be cut down with co-operation between cyclists and motorists. The RCMP is also reminding parents to make sure their young ones only head out when they are wearing a proper helmet. They say parents can lead the way by joining the kids on a ride and wearing a helmet as well.
