MD of Bonnyville still hashing out pot bylaws

The MD of Bonnyville is closer to hammering out their Cannabis consumption bylaws but they’re not in the books just yet. The bylaws were given a first and second reading at council on March 27th but have yet to get the final stamp of approval.

The MD says cannabis will be treated closer to alcohol when it comes to public use. Roads, parks and the like will be a no-go for use. Campsites are a little trickier. So far, the law will allow for use inside of RVs and only in MD campgrounds. Any smoking of the drug outside a camper won’t be allowed.

A final OK on the bylaw is expected at the next council meeting in April.
