Search warrant finds drugs, guns south of Bonnyville

Bonnyville mounties say a search of a home south of town has turned up cocaine and a sawed-off shotgun. Police are saying on Sept 21st mounties from Bonnyville with the help of Cold Lake detachment and the local Police Dog Services executed the search warrant on the home while investigating drug trafficking in the local area.

The RCMP is saying around 130 grams of cocaine as well as marijuana and pills were found during the search. Mounties also say a number of firearms including a sawed-off shotgun were seized.

A 20-year-old man from Edmonton now faces a number of charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. He’ll stay in police custody and see Bonnyville court tomorrow.

Mounties are continuing to investigate.
