LCSD, NLSD among others to receive funding from province

Lakeland Catholic School Division and the Northern Lights School Division are among a few that has been approved by Alberta Education for $50,000 in start-up funding for a new dual credit learning opportunity. The funding will be used for students interested in Heavy Equipment Technician, Electrical and Robotics courses with Portage College as a post-secondary partner

Through a dual credit learning opportunity, students will explore different pathways between trades and technologies and the possibilities that result by connecting them. Students will be able to gain credits in both high school and college when selecting the programs.

The other schools partnering up on the project include Aspen View Public Schools, St.Paul School Division, East Central Alberta Catholic School Division and Elk Island Public Schools.
