Clubroot Found In Lac La Biche County

Lac La Biche County’s Environmental Services department says that clubroot disease has been found within their borders.

Clubroot is a common disease found in soil, and it causes galls or growths to appear on plant roots. Over time, the disease will limit a plant’s growth and eventually kill it. The disease was detected in the western portion of the county.

The Alberta Clubroot Management Plan recommends taking steps like sanitizing vehicles and equipment, rotating crops and growing disease resistant crop varieties.
