Lac La Biche to Hold Recount in Ward 7 Election.

Lac La Biche County has announced that they will conduct a recount of the results for Ward 7 in Monday’s municipal election.

The recount will take place on Thursday at 9 am in the Council Chambers at McArthur Place. Neither the public nor media are permitted to attend. Candidates and scrutineers, however, are able to attend and observe. The public will be informed of the results of the recount.

Colin Cote was awarded the second seat for ward 7 in the unofficial results. However, only twenty four votes separated four different candidates for that final spot. Cote had 224 votes, while Dan Anderson had 215, Cliff Chamberlin had 211 and John Mondal had 200.

Lorin Tkachuk won the first seat comfortably with 465 votes.
