17-Year-Old Charged With Firing Off Gun in Apartment Building

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after allegedly shooting off a gun in a St. Paul apartment.

RCMP received a call of shots fired at the complex around 5 PM on Wednesday. Upon arriving they discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in the victim’s wall. Police then apprehended the 17-year-old in another unit without incident and confiscated a loaded rifle as well. Fortunately nobody was injured.

The 17-year-old male has been charged with Careless use of a firearm, Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, Possession of a firearm, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and Unsafe storage of a firearm. He will appear in St. Paul provincial court on the 21st. The youth’s name cannot be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
