Elk Point Hospital Heli-Pad Vandalized

The Elk Point Hospital is about five hundred dollars in the hole after their Heli-pad and landing lights were vandalized.

Elk Point RCMP arrived at the hospital on Monday morning and were told that the crime must have occurred sometime over the weekend.

Ten aviation lights and three lenses used by helicopters to land were all broken and a planter was left in the centre of the Heli-pad.

“This type of vandalism is not only costly but it put lives at risk,” says Constable Cindy Tymensen, Elk Point RCMP, “A seriously injured person may have had to wait a few extra minutes they did not have while a landing was attempted.”

Elk Point RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact the Elk Point RCMP at 780-724-3964 or call your local police. If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), by internet at www.tipsubmit.com, or by SMS (check your local Crime Stoppers www.crimestoppers.ab.ca for instructions).
