Voyageurs Sporting New Logo

The Portage College Voyageurs are kicking off a new season with a new look. The Voyageurs unveiled a new logo today featuring a more lifelike and determined Eddy Rocks (the College’s mascot) in his canoe and a different colour scheme from their previous green, white and blue uniforms. All the athletics programs – curling, golf and hockey – will be sporting the newly-branded swag in the coming weeks.

“We needed an uplift to our logo that was created back in the nineties and we’re excited to launch the new logo that represents Voyageurs seeking new ground,” says Jim Knight, Manager of Recreation and Athletics at Portage College. “Our past logo has been good but as we enter the College’s next 50 years we wanted it to resemble Eddy Rocks. This new logo shows Eddy propelling his canoe with aggression, determination and purpose, something which captures the spirit of our athletes.

Your first chance to get a look at the new uniforms is Sept 15th at the North Regional Golf Tournament in Camrose. The hockey team will wear the new jerseys on the road in Briercrest on October 6th & 7th and then bring it home on October 13th at the Bold Center when the Voyageurs Men’s Hockey Team takes on MacEwan Griffins. Game time is 7 p.m.
