MD, Lac La Biche Announce Rural Beautification Award Winners

Both the MD of Bonnyville and Lac La Biche County have announced the winners of their respective Rural Beautification Awards.

In Lac La Biche, the distinction was handed to Joyce and Dianne Dallaire near Plamondon. The two received a sign to put in their driveway recognizing their achievement.

Meanwhile in the MD, Bernadette and David Ringette won the District’s first ever Rural Beautification Award in the Under 10 Acre category. The three-acre property has over 600 shelterbelt trees and a vegetable garden.

Elaine Bolin won the MD’s award in the category for farmsteads. Bolin said when she planted anything, she always kept the impact on the agricultural operation in mind. “I always kept the farm in mind – am I going to be able to get a tractor through here? Will a combine be able to turn around there?”

The Ringette and Bolin properties were featured as part of a bus tour the MD of Bonnyville hosted today.
