17-Year-Old’s Death Ruled Homicide

After an autopsy has officially determined that a 17-year-old boy shot on the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement’s death to be a homicide.

Elk Point RCMP responded to the July 19th incident around 10 at night. The boy was found dead in a car on the Frog Lake First Nation a short time later.The youth’s name will not be released at this time.

Members of the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit – North, along with Elk Point RCMP and the Forensic Identification Section continue the investigation.

Investigators do not believe that this was a random incident. Further information will be provided when it becomes available.
