MD Camping Rates to Increase Next Year

Lakeland campers are going to have to pony up a little extra for sites next year.

MD of Bonnyville Council approved several campground rate increases that will come into effect in 2018. Non-power sites will increase to 25 dollars a night from 21 while powered sites will increase to 30 dollars a night from 26, matching the current site rates at Cold Lake M.D. Park. A wheelbarrow of wood will increase as well from 10 dollars to 12.

This is the first increase in campground rates in the MD since 2014. In her report to council, Community Services Director Chris McCord recommended the hike to remain competitive with provincial rates.
