Ardmore Duck Race Estimated to Raise $23,000

The final total hasn’t been calculated yet, but Ardmore School estimates the 26th annual Duck Race raised 23,000 for the Parent Advisory Association to spend on teachers and students.

Once again, the Duck Race sold out all 2,000 ducks to raise down the Beaver River, continuing the sellout streak for every single year since the second race in 1992. No official head count was taken of the event but Principle Ken Pyshyk says they believe the numbers were up slightly from last year.

Organizers lucked out with the weather as well. Although there was a bit of overcast and the wind picked up towards the end, the rain held off for the event.

The first five ducks to cross the finish line won prizes for their owners. The winners are below:

– Meredith Suttie. Winner of the Springfree Trampoline.
– Erin Hendrickson. Winner of the Paddle Board Package.
– Dale Hunt. Winner of the Traeger BBQ Package.
– Raymond Jeffery. Winner of the $1000 Fuel Voucher.
– Bill Watkins. Winner of the iPad.
