Lac La Biche Libraries wins Two Awards

Lac La Biche County Libraries has won two awards for excellence in library programming.

The local library organization, which runs the Stuart MacPherson Public Library at the Bold Center and the Plamondon Municipal Library, received a Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Library Service and the YOU Libraries People’s Choice Award on April 28, 2017.

The organization has been recognized for its Creating Young Readers programming. These programs introduce toddlers and young children to reading, so that important literacy skills start to develop even before school.

“Lac La Biche County Libraries consistently goes above and beyond in delivering quality programs in our community,” said Mayor Omer Moghrabi. “Libraries are not just places to borrow books. They’re important parts of strong communities. On behalf of Lac La Biche County Council, I congratulate our local library board for its hard work and dedication to making our libraries the best they can be.”
