Vera M. Welsh Elementary in Lac La Biche has fallen victim to a particularly cruel case of vandalism that has left their garden shed completely destroyed.
Sometime over Monday night, the shed was broken into with practically every item inside broken. Sprinklers, shelving, a trellis and every last ceramic pot inside were destroyed. As a final touch, flammable liquid was poured on all the planting soil and throughout the shed.
However, the school isn’t going to let that little stumble ruin their plans. They have organized a work bee  from 1-4 pm on Friday to get the shed back up to shape.. Contact Mrs. Skakun if you can help clean up or donate garden supplies. The life skills group at J.A Williams High School has already donated about ten buckets of soil to help them start over.
