Bonnyville Friendship Centre Looking for Dancers on Aboriginal Day

The Bonnyville Native Friendship Centre is looking for Aboriginal Dancers, Drummers and Metis Dancers for their Aboriginal Day Celebrations on June 21st.

“A lot of dancers in the area are already committed for Aboriginal Day and the contact I had last year, I can’t get a hold of him,” explains Pauline Mawer with the Centre. “If you’re a dancer just give us a call. There’s no real set of rules. The dances are given to them and dance troupes will go out and perform. If there’s anyone available we sure could use them.” She adds she needs to know as soon as possible.

The Friendship Centre’s celebrations will be by the splash park this year, featuring a free barbeque with chilli, hamburgers and hot dogs. The dancers will start at 1.

Contact (780)826-3374 if you or someone you know is interested in dancing.
