MD Roads Still in Tough Shape After Storm

Transportation and Utilities Director Darcy Zelisko updated the MD of Bonnyville’s council on Wednesday with the state of the roads out there. After the easter blizzard they’re still reeling from the hit they took.

Roads are extremely soft from the latest snowfall and are going to take some time to shape up. There are three steam crews out, along with washout repair crews, fixing various problems. The crews will coordinate with homeowners to help move water and maintain access for property owners. Some spot gravelling and patching has already started for some of the more urgent issues.

The Construction Crew is back for the season, and has started with safety training and equipment maintenance and will be coordinating to start on its first projects of the year as soon as conditions allow. The Oiling Crew season start is delayed until weather conditions allow for work to begin.
