RABC Cold Lake Wins EDA Award of Excellence

After Director Kathrynne Hotte personally received a local Woman of Influence Award earlier this year, the Rural Alberta Business Centre (RABC) Cold Lake has added another trophy to the cabinet.

“It’s kind of our year,” says Hotte. “I was just a presenter at the EDA (Economic Developers of Alberta) conference in Banff. There’s like four hundred delegates that go there from all over North America and I go every year. I presented on our success story here in Cold Lake.

“We just won an award for (Business Retention and Expansion in the category of) small business community under 25,000. We called it ‘Raising the Roof in Rural Alberta.’ We received it from the (Alberta) Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Deron Bilous and the president of EDA. It was really great to receive that award.”

The RABC has lots planned for the coming months. Spaces are available at the business incubator and their next Wisdom and Opportunities for Women – or WOW – event is May 17th.
