The people of the Municipal District of Bonnyville have spoken, and the Ag and Waste Department’s new taxidermied rat now officially has a name.
Ratty McRatface beat out all the competition, getting 222 votes. Mr. McRatface will be used by the Ag and Waste Department for instructional purposes when teaching about pest control.
The MD had a bit of a problem with the winning name though, who do they give the prize to when nine different people submitted it? Staff had to draw a winner from the nine at random, and that happened to be Candice McCluskey.
The Name the Rat contest proved to be a runaway success for the MD, getting coverage all over the internet and receiving more than 350 submissions.
