Lakeland Getting Back on Feet After Winter Storm

The Lakeland is in recovery mode after getting just over 30 centimetres of snow over the Easter long weekend.

Power outages were reported all over the region with some houses offline for over 36 hours. ATCO reports that there are still a few small areas in the region without electricity today, but that they have most of the area back up and running and are almost finished.

Road conditions are mostly good on major roads and highways, but a lot of side streets are still in pretty rough shape. Hard snow is making for difficult terrain and might still be causing a few headaches. Much lighter snowfall is forecasted over the next couple days with highs above zero. Most of the snow should melt away on Wednesday.
