Final Numbers in For Coyote and Wolf Predation Program

The Ag and Waste Services Department for the MD of Bonnyville has released their final numbers for the Coyote and Wolf Predation program this year, and while numbers are down that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The program wrapped up at the end of March and the department reports that 33 wolves were brought in along with 932 coyotes. That compares with 66 and 1331 the year before. This is not a numbers game though. The MD is still calling the season a success because they only had one incident of livestock being killed by predators.

The department also included a brief review of the trapper courses in their report. Two courses were held over the winter with thirty two students partaking.
