Alberta Funding Study Into Complex Needs Housing in Bonnyville

The provincial government has approached Bonnyville town council to look into building special housing.

The province will conduct a feasibility study valued up to 200,000 dollars in the town to see if they will be able to build sustainable housing for people with complex needs there. These are people who might suffer from a developmental disability, mental illness, addiction and a wide variety of other concerns. Council noted such a facility would fit in well with other mental health initiatives they’ve taken on in recent years.

If the province decides Bonnyville is a good place for such a project, the town might qualify for provincial funding to construct it as well. All staffing for the units would be provided by AHS.
