Rachel Reid Named Notre Dame Elementary Vice Principal

The Lakeland Catholic School District has announced that Rachel Reid will be the new Vice Principal at Notre Dame Elementary School.

Rachel was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but raised in Bonnyville, Alberta. She has also lived in Calgary; Wellington, New Zealand and Lethbridge. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Education degree with a major in Physical Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. She holds a Masters of Education degree in Leadership from Gonzaga University.

Her teaching career began in Calgary, Alberta fifteen years ago. In 2014, Rachel began teaching with Lakeland Catholic at École Notre Dame High School. In this position, she taught Religious Studies, Career and Life Management (CALM), Physical Education, Social Studies and English Language Arts.

She is currently the Classroom Support Teacher (CST) at this school. Rachel enjoys coaching school sports and she volunteers in the choir at St. Louis Parish, as well as with a variety of charities in Bonnyville.

When asked about what she hopes to bring to this position, she says, “I look forward to this next step in my career, working with elementary students and being encouraged by their energy and joy of life. Over the years, I have been able to refine my leadership style and look forward to honouring the voices of all those invested in the education of our youth.”

Rachel will commence her position as Vice Principal at Notre Dame Elementary School in August 2017.
