The Canadian Space Agency has whittled down over 4,000 applications for two astronauts down to just 72. Three of those are people currently posted at 4 wing.
Surgeon Ross Semeniuk, Major Joshua Kutryk and Captain Vanessa Fulford all remain in the hunt to travel into outer space. More exciting yet, the CSA has identified 32 “top candidates” from that list, which includes Kutryk and Fulford.
We’ll know if any of the three made the final cut by August, when the astronauts will be sent off to Texas for training in partnership with NASA. Should any of the 4-Wing members be selected, they’ll keep their position with the military.
