“Civil emergency” declared on highway near St. Paul

RCMP are asking people to stay clear of an area south of St. Brides on Highway 36 due to an ongoing incident. A road block has been set up but other routes can be taken on Highways 28, 646 and 41.

The provincial government has declared a civil emergency in St. Paul County. That’s defined as “an emergency that disrupts normal civilian activities” on its website.

The public has been asked to stay clear until the incident is dealt with. We’ll update when we learn more.
