Ashmont in Top Ten For Small Town Saturday Night

Four bids around the Lakeland were placed for Big Valley Jamboree’s Small Town Saturday Night, but only one was able to make the top ten finalists.

Humble little Ashmont – only 188 people in size – is going up against the likes of Peace River, Drayton Valley and Innisfail to be the venue for a concert headlined by Gord Bamford on April 29th. Should Ashmont win it all, the proceeds of the concert would go to the local Ag Society.

St. Paul looked to be in the running, sitting at tenth towards the end of the voting period, but didn’t quite make the cut in the end. Cold Lake and Glendon’s bids were both close to the bottom throughout.

The complete list of finalists are:

Ashmont

Crowsnest Pass

Drayton Valley

Duchess

Innisfail

LaGlace

Peace River

Rimbey

Rocky Mountain House

Viking
