It appears that local wildlife are getting a little bolder with crossing the road. The Cold Lake RCMP say they were called out to seventeen car accidents last week, eight involving an animal.
Of those eight, seven were a car hitting a deer and one unfortunate driver colliding with a moose. Weather appeared to be a factor in several accidents too, including one where a car slid off the road due to ice.
The Energy Centre also appears to be a hot spot for accidents with a few reported incidents happening along Highway 28 near the building.
RCMP are sending out the message to keep an eye out for furry pedestrians while driving, especially during the early morning and evening where it can be harder to see.
