150 Attend Al-Kareem Mosque Prayer Service

About a hundred and fifty people attended a special Prayer Service at the Al-Kareem Mosque in Lac La Biche Last night for the victims of the attack in Quebec City.

Imam Mazhar Mahmood says the service was attended by people from all walks of life. “It was a very, very diverse congregation.”

The notice of the service invited residents from all faith-based communities as well as the greater community in general to attend.

“We need to bring about that sentiment of getting to know one another, understanding cultures, understanding difference and accepting differences as well. That’s what makes us a community when we understand one another and when we reach out to one another as well.

“That was basically the sentiment that was prevailing at the vigil last night. It was very, very awesome to see.”

Mahmood thanks all those who attended.
