After having to write a press release last week basically saying their funds had dried up, things are looking a little better for Kidsport Bonnyville this week.
The organization -which provides up to 300 dollars for kids’ registration fees- received two donations of a thousand dollars each from Ducharme Motors and the local Pharmasave.
“It’s great that they’ve stepped up for us,” says Chair Brad Ollen. “We can fund the kids that are on the waiting list right now for their sports. We’re still hoping more donations come in and that we get some fundraising ideas coming through as well.”
The organization does have a couple events scheduled to shore up funds. All the proceeds from Tip a Pontiac Night at Mr. Mikes on February 9th will go to Kidsport. A Steak night fundraiser at the Players’ Lounge is scheduled as well for March 4th with half the money going to the nonprofit. Contact Brad at at 780-201-2627, or email [email protected] for a ticket.
