Ex-Municipal Affairs Minister Praises MD’s IMCP Program

The MD of Bonnyville’s Inter-municipal co-operation program has gotten noticed at the provincial level.

The MD has received a letter from now former Municipal affairs minister Daniel Larivee praising the work going on between communities in the region.  “I applaud the work that the region has done to create this program (Inter Municipal Cooperation Program),” the letter dated January 10th reads. “This example of intermunicipal cooperation becomes especially relevant as we look ahead to the new Modernized Municipal Government Act and the requirements for mandatory Intermunicipal Collaboration.”

Larivee continues, “I encourage you to continue the good working relationship that you have developed with your municipal neighbours.”

This year, the IMCP will see Glendon receive $515,055 from the MD, while the City of Cold Lake will receive $645,800.  The Town of Bonnyville is set to get just over $3.8 million, which includes 800,000 for the C2.
