Bonnyville RCMP say a reported child abduction on Friday was a false alarm.
RCMP received a call around 3:30 of a girl being taken in a white Ford cube van against her will on 49th avenue just outside a school. Several detachments got together to set up a road block around the area to look for her.
A short while later, police discovered the van belonged to a girls’ sports team and nothing criminal had taken place.
The Bonnyville RCMP would like to thank the various partners and members of the public that assisted them with their investigation.
