AHS Looking For Public Feedback at Thursday HAC Meeting

Lakeland residents who have a thing or two to say about the local health care system can share their  thoughts on the matter at a meeting of the Lakeland Communities Health Advisory Council this Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled for  January 19th  from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m via teleconference. Citizens who wish to join can go to one of the following locations:
· Athabasca – Community Health Services, Telehealth Room
· Cold Lake – Community Health Services, Public Health, Mobile Unit, Education Room
· Radway – Continuing Care Centre, Telehealth Room
· Lac La Biche – Provincial Building, Room 1

AHS conducts these meetings in order to hear feedback from local communities on how they’re doing with their services and receive input from them, as well as educate those who might be interested on what Health Advisory Councils are all about. Public feedback is expected to begin around 5:10

“Health Advisory Councils play an important role in supporting the strategic direction of AHS by engaging members of their communities throughout Alberta in a respectful, transparent and accountable manner,” a press release from AHS reads. “Public participation is essential to improving the quality and accountability of health services. Working in partnership with AHS is an important way to ensure that services are more responsive to the needs of those who use them.”
