Cold Lake residents have the chance to win an iPad Mini from the local library, and all they’ve got to do is spend seven hours reading over the course of two months.
The library has six on-hand as prizes for their Winter Reading Program. “All ages can enter and you can enter more than once,” explains organizer Tanya Boudreau. “You can read from home. You don’t have to read library books. At each branch there’s a form they can pick up – the reading logs – where they can keep track of their reading.”
Boudreau says the program has gotten a lot of response already. “The first ten people who return their forms to us and we put their name in for the draw, we’re giving them a little extra prize.” Exactly what those prizes are remains a secret. She adds that there’s still about six of them left. If you’re quick enough you even get your pick of which one you’d like. “That kind of gives people the incentive to return early.”
