Two Assumption Students Win “Support Our Troops” Scholarships

Erin Gillis and Arielle Hiar from Assumption School have both been named recipients of the national “Support Our Troops” Scholarship.

Awarded by the Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services (CFMWS), the scholarship is awarded to students either enrolled or going into university who have a parent or are married to someone in the armed forces. A total of 23 prizes ranging in value from 500 to 10,000 dollars were awarded nation-wide. Applicants have to write an essay, as well as attach letter of reference, transcript and resume to apply.
