Five Arrested in Bonnyville Drug and Weapons Bust

Five people from all over the Lakeland have been arrested by Bonnyville RCMP after finding illegal weapons and drugs on a property in the MD.

Police executed a search warrant on New Year’s Day near RR 463 and Twp Rd. 624. Inside they found 4 firearms including two shot guns and a semi-automatic assault rifle along with a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, ammunition, and numerous cell phones and scales believed to be used in the illegal drug trade.

 
“We continue to monitor the distribution of illegal drugs including methamphetamine which for the time being appears to be a common drug in the area.” said  Staff Sargent Luis Gandolfi in a statement to the media.

Police have released the following names arrested in the bust:

Matthew Sartain (36) of the MD of Bonnyville
Rose Schweigert (35) of Adrmore
Brian Simpson (50) of Bonnyville
Derek MacMillian (33) of Cold Lake
Jennifer Patterson (28 of Glendon
