Farmer Finds Stray Horse, Donkey and Pony on Property

A farmer outside of Cold Lake woke up to a bit of a surprise this morning when he found a brown horse, a blonde Shetland Pony and a donkey had wandered on to his property at some point.

Roger -who lives a mile north of Highway 55- says he was pouring his morning coffee when he saw his new guests, ‘They were sitting there laying by the grain feed bale quite content. They’re friendly as hell because when I went out all three came out to meet me and I pet their heads and scratched their ears, then they just went back to eating. They don’t seem to be in a hurry to leave.”

Although the animals aren’t causing him any trouble at all, Roger hopes the owners can pick them up soon as he is concerned for their safety. “I’m not a fenced in farm. That’s how they got on the property in the first place. But I’m worried about tonight when everybody’s coming home from work that they might wander back on to the road and there’s no way of me stopping them.”

If this sounds like your missing set of farm animals, call Roger at 780-201-1050 and he’ll provide you with directions to the property.
