Shots fired during Muriel Viewpoint break and enter

Shots were fired in the Muriel Viewpoint subdivision as three people tried to steal a vehicle Tuesday. Bonnyville RCMP say the thieves were trying to make off with the vehicle when they were interrupted by flying bullets. One suspect fled in a getaway car while the two others ran into the bushes.

RCMP air services and a canine unit were called in and found the runners within a few hours. The 25 year old man and 22 year old woman from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement are in police custody with charges pending. The other man involved is still at large.

No one was hurt, but there’s extensive bullet hole damage to one of the vehicles. Due to the amount of evidence the investigation could take several weeks. Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
