Those without the disposable income to buy tickets to World Junior A Challenge games have been finding themselves in luck thanks to the ticket donation program.
Challenge Organizers have been teaming up with the Bonnylodge, Extendicare and the Friendship Centre to make help people on all steps of the financial ladder have a chance to see one of the largest events Bonnyville has ever hosted. People who pay for a full package of tickets, but can’t make every single game can donate the tickets they won’t be using, which the partner organizations can give out as they see fit.
“You’d be saving money by buying the full event ticket package and just donating a couple extra seats,” explains Organizing Committee member Robb Hunter. “If there was a way we include everybody in the event, get them all out here to the R.J Lalonde Arena and have a good time, it was going to be a good program. We’re awfully happy with how it’s been going. Lots of people have been donating tickets and we’ve been able to get those out to people who need them.
“From everything I’ve heard, everyone’s been awfully excited to be able to receive these tickets and we’ve been doing our best to make sure we can keep everybody as happy as we can.”
