The final numbers aren’t quite in yet, but it appears the Bonnyville Festival of Trees last week far exceeded the amount of money raised in 2015.
Doreen Kushnir with the Town of Bonnyville says they appear to be just short of 20,000 dollars raised from the event, the proceeds of which all go to the local doctor recruitment program. Last year raised about 15,000.
The event includes a silent auction of themed Christmas trees, live music and a Santa’s Workshop where kids can pick out a present for their parents without mom and dad seeing.
