Best selling parenting author Judy Arnall is going to be making a trip up to Bonnyville this Saturday to give a free workshop.
In addition to her books, residents might recognize her from her regular appearances on Global TV, City TV and Alberta Prime Time. She’ll be providing a hands-on session at the Bonnyville Seniors Drop-In Centre from 9 AM to 2 PM.
“We’re quite excited,” says Bonnyville FCSS Director David Beale. “We’re pushing about fifty parents coming. And those are the ones that RSVP’d. We did ask people to do that but it is free and we know people will show up [without doing so.] The good friends at the Seniors’ Drop-In Centre are putting on lunch so they asked ‘How many should we cook for?’ We’re going ‘oh my we don’t know!’ so we put in a few more bowls of water in the soup so we can feed everybody who comes. We’re looking forward to a good workshop day there.”
Now if this is a workshop you’re interested in attending, odds are you have a child of your own and have to figure out what to do about them while absorbing Arnell’s parenting knowledge. Don’t worry that’s been taken care of.
“We’re also providing childcare. We’ve engaged the Bonnyville daycare to put childcare on for free on Saturday for people who have registered. We do need to know in advance if you’re bringing your child though. We have already booked 25 children for that day so the children get a special day too.”
